🎓 Bright Futures Autism Training Program
Fifteen years after the landmark “Neonatal Resuscitation” initiative helped reduce newborn mortality nationwide, the Bright Futures Program continues to shape pediatric care in Vietnam. In September 2025, the Training Team—comprising eight pediatric specialists from Vanderbilt University and Southern California institutions—delivered a new wave of professional development focused on neurodiversity and early intervention.
The Training Team efforts introduced the STAT (Screening Tool for Autism in Toddlers and Young Children), now officially recognized by the Vietnam Ministry of Health, alongside updated modules for remote management of developmental delays. Through a series of in-person training spanning the Mekong Delta to Hanoi, the team equipped pediatricians, therapists, and educators with the tools to support children with diverse developmental needs. Pilot programs were launched in Can Tho and Da Nang, laying the groundwork for sustainable, community-based care.
To ensure lasting impact, weekly online sessions will continue to reinforce and expand this vital knowledge—bringing Bright Futures to life in every corner of the country.
“We’re building a network of knowledge and compassion to ensure every child can thrive.”
